The commitments
When you join the Platform, you commit to the Gemstones and Jewellery Community Platform journey. You commit to learn, take action and strive for the continuous improvement of your business practices, in the 10 key areas of sustainability described below. You also commit to sharing your performance and progress with the community, with the purpose to work together collectively towards a responsible gemstones and jewellery industry.

We commit to apply clear policies and suitable systems for managing our businesses responsibly.
2. Business Ethics and Integrity
We commit to conduct our business ethically, to comply with the law, and to forbid bribery and prevent all forms of corruption and other illegal activities.
3. Responsible Supply Chain
We commit to better understand the sources of the materials and products we buy from mine to market and to support responsible production wherever possible.
4. Human Rights and Equality
We commit to uphold the fundamental human rights of each individual, and encourage inclusion and equality in our businesses and the gemstone and jewellery community.
5. Labour Rights and Fair Working Conditions
We commit to respect the rights of our workers and treat them fairly.
6. Health and Safety at Work
We commit to provide safe working conditions for our workers.
7. Environmental Protection
We commit to design and produce with respect for natural resources, ecosystems, and wildlife, and take action to minimise our impact on the environment.
8. Community Development
We commit to support the sustainable advancement of the communities that contribute to and depend on the gemstone and jewellery value chain in any way practical.
9. Responsible Mining
We commit to encourage and put in place responsible mining practices to reduce the impact of operations on communities and nature.
10. Product Transparency
We commit to communicate transparently about the provenance of our products and on the characteristics that make them unique.
